SAF 2304 Duplex Stainless Steel Charactistics
SAF 2304 duplex stainless steel is a duplex stainless steel developed by Sweden.
2304 stainless steel treatment temperature is about 1000 ℃, with 40% – 50% ferrite and 50% – 60% austenite, which has the characteristics of duplex stainless steel.
It is a kind of steel with high strength and low cost, which can replace 304L stainless steel and 316L stainless steel.

Application
SAF 2304(S32304) stainless steel has good mechanical, physical properties, stress corrosion resistance, and good weldability. This makes it possible to replace 304, 304L, 316, 316L, and other austenitic stainless steels.
It can be used to manufacture recycling equipment, fermentation equipment, etc.
Also, it can also be used as a heat exchanger for the manufacturing industry, preheating for the pulp and paper industry, train seat frame, etc.

Process
Cold forming
The forming temperature range is 950-1100 ℃, and quenching treatment is conducted after forming.
Heat treatment
The forming method is the same as that of austenitic stainless steel, and it is difficult to start deformation. After reaching the yield limit, the deformation is the same as that of austenitic stainless steel. The deep drawing and other forming of SAF 2304 duplex stainless steel is more difficult than that of austenitic stainless steel.
Machinability
The treatment temperature is 950-1050 ℃. The stress relief annealing temperature is 550-600 ℃.
