Steel Alloy Properties

Steel alloys are alloys with special physical and chemical properties and special functions and uses. Generally refers to martensitic steel, austenitic steel, ferritic steel and duplex stainless steel. These alloys can be further classified according to their basic characteristics and basic constituent elements.

For example, it can be divided into iron-based alloy, nickel-based kettle, cobalt-based alloy and so on according to the basic elements. Steel alloys are mainly used in the manufacture of components with special physical properties and functions, such as aerospace, nuclear energy, naval ships, electronic control, etc., which are high temperature and corrosion resistant.

steel alloys

There are many kinds of special alloy steels, which are usually divided into low alloy steel (content < 5%), medium alloy steel (content 5% ~ 10%), and high alloy steel (content > 10%). According to the quality, it can be divided into high-quality steel.

According to their characteristics and uses, they are divided into alloy structural steel, stainless steel, acid-resistant steel, wear-resistant steel, heat-resistant steel, tool steel, rolling bearing steel, alloy spring steel, and special performance steel (such as soft magnetic steel, permanent magnetic steel and non-magnetic steel).

Types of Steel Alloys

Martensitic Stainless Steel

Martensitic stainless steel is a stainless steel whose mechanical properties can be improved by heat treatment. It is a stainless steel that can be hardened. It has a higher hardness after quenching and has different toughness at different tempering temperatures.

Martensitic Stainless Steel

Austenitic Stainless Steel

Austenitic stainless steel refers to the stainless steel with austenite structure at room temperature. It is a kind of stainless steel with high strength, good corrosion resistance, and excellent durability.

Austenitic stainless steel

Ferritic Stainless Steel

Ferritic steel has large thermal conductivity, small expansion coefficient, excellent oxidation resistance and stress corrosion resistance. It is often used to make steam and water resistant parts

Ferritic stainless steel

Duplex Stainless Steel

Duplex stainless steel is a kind of stainless steel composed of ferrite and austenite. The ferrite content is about 50%, and the austenite content is about 50%. This kind of steel has the characteristics of both austenitic stainless steel and ferritic stainless steel.

White Cast Iron

It has high compressive strength and high hardness and strength at high temperature. It has a high hardness and wear resistance, but high brittleness, continuous processing, can only be directly used for casting.

Our Alloy Products

Our main alloy products are alloy steel pipe, wear-resistant pipe, steel roller, sleeve, etc.

All products of alloy steel are created under the strict control of our in-house laboratory using instruments calibrated to NIST standards.  In most cases, we alloy elementally to the latest requirements of the American Society for Testing and Materials
