Navigation Table

What is CA6NM Stainless Steel ?

CA6NM belongs to martensitic stainless steel, also called hydroelectric steel. Molybdenum is added under quenching and tempering conditions to prevent rust. Due to its good toughness, it can be used at temperatures ranging from -60 ℃ to +300 ℃.

Execution Standard: ASTM A743 / A487 / A757

CA6NM stainless steel is generally divided into three heat treatment conditions, QT650, QT780, and QT900. This material is used in the petroleum industry and in the construction of power plants.

This material is a good polish. Good corrosion resistance in a corrosive environment without chloride. Surface condition plays a large part in corrosion resistance. The polished surface is much better than the rough surface. It can be hardened by maintaining a temperature between 950 ℃ and 1050 ℃, and then cooled in air or polymer. The strength of this stainless steel depends on the tempering temperature.

The steel pipe not only has good corrosion resistance, weldability, but also has high strength and low-temperature toughnessIt belongs to low carbon martensite stainless steel, used for hydropower facilities and mine facilities of the wear parts. Such as turbine blades, turbine, roller screen/feeder.

There are usually three ways of heat treatment for this martensitic stainless steel

  • High-temperature tempering
  • modulation (quenching + high-temperature tempering)
  • quenching + low-temperature tempering
